Our Team

President & General Manager:
Edward Mazanec, III

Ed III was born in Waco, Texas, graduated from LaVega High School in Waco and Texas A&M University with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1978. Upon graduation he joined Mazanec Construction Company, Inc., as estimator and supervisor. The accomplishments of Ed III in the construction business are numerous and varied. He has seen many multimillion dollar projects completed since the company incorporated in 1981. Ed III is a former President and Board Member of the Central Texas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, a member of the Waco Business League and continues to serve on various committees. Ed III is married to Vicky and they have two children, Eddie IV and Lindsey.


Vice President: Mark M. Mazanec

Mark was born in Waco, Texas. He graduated from LaVega High School in Waco and Texas State Technical Institute with an associate degree in Building Construction Technology. Throughout his education, Mark worked in all phases of the company. Upon completion of his education, Mark became Mazanec Construction’s job coordinator, working his way into field superintendent, and eventually becoming estimator, office manager and Vice-President. Mark specializes in metal buildings and design drawing for the company. Several projects under his project management have been nominated and awarded various building awards. Mark is currently serving on the Safety Management Program for the Associated General Contractors of America. Mark has two sons, Matthew and Sean.


Office Manager: Melody Grigsby

Melody was born in Waco, Texas. She graduated from Midway High School and attended McLennan Community College taking business and accounting classes. She has lived in Lorena with her family since 1978. Melody joined Mazanec Construction Co. as receptionist and bookkeeper in 1996 and is now Mazanec Construction’s lead bookkeeper and office manager. She is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction. Melody is married, has two children and two grandsons.


Senior Bookkeeper: Melba Maddox

Melba was born in Chilton, Texas. She graduated from Chilton High School and Cozzens Business College in Ft. Worth, Texas. In 1982 she joined Mazanec Construction Co. as head bookkeeper and receptionist. At the present time, Melba is working part time and enjoying semi-retirement. Melba has been involved with the Waco Chapter of Women in Construction for many years. She enjoys sewing and gardening, as well as traveling and socializing with friends and family.


Public Relations and Corporate Secretary/Treasurer: Vicky Mazanec

Vicky graduated from Connally High School and Baylor University with an accounting degree. She is in charge of PR and donations for the corporation and various other duties. She has served on many community volunteer committees such as Meals on Wheels and United Way of Waco and is currently serving on the board of the United Way. Vicky has worked in the accounting field for over 25 years and came on board at Mazanec Construction five years ago to help with the needs of the growing company. She is married to Ed Mazanec III.


Receptionist: Danielle Robbins

Danielle was born in Palestine, Texas and moved with her family to the Waco area in 1998. She graduated from Lorena High School in 2004. She has worked at Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in the nursery for the past 3 years and worked in the energy efficiency field before coming to Mazanec Construction as a receptionist. Danielle enjoys spending time with family and friends, going camping and playing with her dog.


Estimator & Project Manager: Aaron Mynar

Aaron was born in Waco, Texas and graduated from Connally High School in 2002.  After high school, Aaron attended Texas A & M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor’s of Science in Construction science.  While at Texas A&M, Aaron was the President of the Student Chapter AGC and received the Cumberland Craftsman’s Award.  Upon graduation Aaron went to work for Brookstone Construction in Houston, Texas as an Assistant Superintendent, where he completed two different projects, Stonebridge Church and The John Cooper Lower School, which are both located in The Woodlands, Texas.  Aaron returned to his home town of Waco, Texas in 2007 to continue his construction career as a Project Manager for Mazanec Construction.  Aaron just recently finished as Project Manager on the Additions and Renovations for Connally I.S.D as well as the McLennan Community College Classroom Addition. He is now Project Manager on various projects throughout Midway I.S.D., including the new Midway Panther Stadium, and Texas State Technical College Golf Course Landscape Building. Aaron was recently awarded LEED, AP certification. He is newly married to Kristen, who recently graduated from Baylor Law School.


Senior Superintendent: Truman Herring

Truman was born in McGregor, Texas, where he grew up and continues to live today. He graduated from Oglesby High School in 1965 and completed Carpenter Apprenticeship School. He served in the Navy for four years and went to work for Waco Construction Co. as an assistant superintendent. After ten year at Waco Construction, Truman joined Bob Hoover Construction as a superintendent for the next twelve years. In 1990 Truman joined Mazanec Construction Co. as general superintendent. Truman has supervised many notable projects: T.S.T.C. Hanger, Improved Order of Red Men, V.A. Medical Center, T.S.T.C. Aerospace Technologies Center, Waste Management Service Center, The Arts & Science Building at Navarro College in Corsicana, The Terminal Expansion at the Waco Regional Airport, Renovations to the Corsicana Y.M.C.A., New Offices for Campbell, Cherry, Harrison, Davis & Dove Law Offices, K.D. Manitou, The Pearce Collection Museum at Navarro College in Corsicana, the new China Spring Middle School / High School Gym Addition, the New La Vega Elementary School, and most recently MCC New Classroom building. Truman is married to Judy Herring and they have twin daughters, a son and three grandchildren.


Superintendent: Charles “Bud” Barker

Bud was born in Waco, Texas. He joined the Army in 1982 where he served 8 years. Bud grew up in the construction industry and worked under the guidance of his father for many years. Bud went to work for Barsh Construction Inc. as a Site Superintendent and worked in the field coordinating and monitoring utilities and site excavation. Bud also worked with Waco Construction as an Assistant Superintendent at the Waco Transit Building. After completing the Waco Transit Building, Bud Barker was promoted to Superintendent and moved to Greenville, Texas to build the Greenville Police and Courts Facility. Bud joined the Mazanec Construction team in March of 2008 and was involved in the construction of the McLennan Community College Dennis F Machaelis Academic Center and the McLennan Community College Parking Garage. He is currently serving as assistant superintendent at the Panther Stadium addition for Midway I.S.D.


Superintendent: Jimmy Clark

Jimmy was born in West Liberty, Kentucky, the son a carpenter, and graduated from Westerville, Ohio in 1973.   However, Jimmy has lived in West, Texas most of his adult life.  Jimmy has specialized in all forms of carpentry work – rough carpentry, framing, trim work, remodeling and commercial building.  Prior to coming to work for Mazanec, Jimmy worked for Moyer Construction , Savinski Builders, Fred Williams Construction Co. and Custom Carpentry.  In December of 1994 Jimmy came to work for Mazanec Construction as a field carpenter.  He has worked his way from field carpenter to carpenter foreman as well as assistant superintendent on many projects.  After many years of hard work, dedication and completion of his Supervisory Training Program, Jimmy became a general superintendent for Mazanec Construction Co. Jimmy has worked on many notable projects for Mazanec Construction:   Arts & Science Center for Navarro College, Brazos Place Shopping Center, Waco Regional Airport, CCHDD Law Office, Pearce Civil War Museum for Navarro College, China Spring Middle School, La Vega ISD (High School, Elementary and Primary Schools), Extraco Bank – Lacy Lakeview and Manitou North America, West Assisted Living Facility in West, Texas, Jimmy most recently completed Connally I.S.D and Alliance Bank. He is currently superintendent at Texas State Technical College Golf Course Landscape Building.


Superintendent: James Poehls

James was born in Waco, Texas and attended La Vega High School.  James served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1978.  Prior to coming to Mazanec, James worked for LL Sam’s renovating churches all over the United States.  He also worked for M.H.M.R. of Waco.  In 1989, James joined Mazanec Construction Co. as a field carpenter.  In 1996 he was promoted to Carpenter Foreman.  He also filled the position of assistant superintendent on many projects such as The Campbell, Harrison, Davis and Dove Law Office, Time Warner Cablevision, Brazos Place Shopping Center and Westrock Shopping Center in Hewitt.   James recently completed his certification for Supervisory Training Program from the Central Texas A.G.C. of America.  Since that time, James has supervised the Additions to South Bosque Elementary School with Midway I.S.D., Waco Nissan, McLennan Community College Classroom Addition, and currently Midway I.S.D. Renovations. James married and has one daughter and 3 grandchildren.


Superintendent: Dave Stewart

Dave was born in Marlin, Texas. Dave graduated from Midwest City High school in 1976. After many summers and weekends working as general labor he began his career as concrete labor with H.A. Lott, Inc. where he soon worked up to Carpenter. Dave has worked for B.F.W. Construction, J. J. Cooked Construction, H.A. Lott, Inc., City of Oklahoma City & Britannia Development Corp. and Butte Construction as a Superintendent, where he built office and retail centers and manufacturing plants. Over these many years he gained knowledge and experience as Assistant Superintendent, Engineer, layout and Superintendent In 1989 as Superintendent, Dave moved to San Diego, California with Roel Construction Co. Inc. While in San Diego, he built a 20,000 SF Administration Building, 19,000 sf Maintenance Building, and the La Casa Del Zorro Resort. Dave has joined forces with Mazanec Construction Inc. and has just finished working at Bruceville Eddy I.S.D. He is currently working at Waco High School. Dave is married and has a son and daughter and 4 grandchildren.


Superintendent: Joe Stone

Joe was born in McGregor, Texas where he grew up and graduated high school in 1986. He went into the construction industry soon after graduation. He worked his way up through the ranks from laborer, carpenter, concrete foreman, field engineer, assistant superintendent, to project superintendent. He has been involved in building hospitals, schools, churches, detention centers, stadiums and special use facilities. Joe recently joined the team at Mazanec Construction and is assigned to oversee the A.J. Moore High School project. Joe is married and they have two children.
